About Us

Holistic Justice Initiative (HJI) was founded in 2024 to bring trauma-responsive care to the justice system. What started as a grassroots effort has grown into a mission-driven organization focused on disrupting systemic trauma, restoring dignity, and supporting transformation for justice-impacted individuals.

In 2025, HJI partnered with the Karyn Purvis Institute at Texas Christian University and Volunteers for Youth Justice to co-develop TBRI® On The Inside—a 16-week trauma-informed curriculum for use in correctional settings.

Today, HJI offers mentorship, reentry support, professional training, and advocacy, working alongside partners who believe in second chances and the power of trust-based relationships to change lives.
